The award-winning Ronald Reagan High School Theatre Department routinely produces four to six shows per school year. There are usually two main stage productions in the fall and sometimes an additional show in our Black Box theater which usually coincides with our second mainstage production. The RRHS Theatre Department then combines forces with the choir and orchestra departments to produce an annual musical production in February. The musical is followed by the UIL One-Act Play competition in late March. The season concludes with a public performance of the UIL OAP followed by another black box production.
Ronald Reagan High School is one of the seven high schools that are part of the North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. It is a 6A school with an average student population of approximately 3,500. The school is located just north of Sonterra Drive and east of Stone Oak Parkway, next door to North Central Baptist Hospital.
Our shows are produced in the Gloria Robinson Auditorium at Ronald Reagan High School or the black box theater in the Fine Arts building of the Reagan campus. The auditorium features seating for 970 patrons, a large stage, fly system, stage lighting, sound, video projection and a large orchestra pit. Our Black Box Theater is an intimate space and usually seats 70-100 patrons depending on the seating configuration for each show.
